A decade ago, doing business was simpler — and in one quiet way, it was better.

We built our brands on Facebook. We made a Page, we posted, we grew it. And every time someone messaged us or bought from us, we collected something that mattered: their phone number, their email. We were building a database — a real one.

That list was ours. When we had a new product, we didn't ask permission and we didn't pay for reach. We simply contacted our customers — and sales came in. The relationship belonged to the business.

Then the marketplaces arrived. Lazada, Shopee. They reshaped everything. Suddenly you didn't need to worry about traffic at all — the marketplace already had the buyers. Selling got easier than ever. But the customer was theirs now, not yours. You had become a listing in someone else's catalogue.

Then came the era of the algorithm. It arrived with TikTok. And at first, it was incredible — a single video could build a brand overnight. The algorithm did the work; it found customers for you. It worked tremendously well.

But the same algorithm that built businesses up is now the one quietly killing them.

One day your business is flying — because the algorithm chose you. The next day it suffers — because the algorithm isn't on your side anymore. Your product didn't change. Your effort didn't change. Only the feed changed. And it's the same inside the marketplaces: they own the traffic, they control the attention, they decide who gets to see your business.

This is what I call the Closed Loop — where the platform owns and controls everything, including how you're allowed to run your own business. The system that was helping you suddenly becomes the system hurting you. And you only survive if you keep making content. The day you stop, you disappear.

But the trend is changing. More and more businesses are trying to bring ownership back. To get their own traffic back. To get out of this tiring loop where the business depends entirely on someone else's mercy.

So we built BOOMieY to flip it back — and give ownership back to businesses.

BOOMieY is a Network Space where brands and people meet, and make real connections. It's an infrastructure for businesses to take back ownership of their customers, their community and their brand — in a modern, sophisticated, new way.

I believe this is the future. I believe the future belongs to businesses that own their traffic. And I believe a business's survival, from here on, comes down to one question — do you own your customers, or does someone else?

Kemudian marketplace muncul. Lazada, Shopee. Ia mengubah segalanya. Tiba-tiba anda tak perlu fikir tentang traffic langsung — marketplace sudah ada pembeli. Menjual jadi lebih mudah berbanding sebelumnya. Tetapi pelanggan kini milik mereka, bukan anda. Anda hanya menjadi satu listing dalam katalog orang lain.

Kemudian tibalah era algorithm. Ia datang bersama TikTok. Pada mulanya, ia luar biasa — satu video boleh membina brand dalam satu malam. Algorithm yang buat kerja; ia mencari pelanggan untuk anda. Ia berfungsi dengan sangat hebat.

Tetapi algorithm yang sama yang membina bisnes, kini perlahan-lahan membunuhnya.

Satu hari bisnes anda melonjak — kerana algorithm memilih anda. Keesokannya ia terjejas — kerana algorithm tidak lagi menyebelahi anda. Produk anda tak berubah. Usaha anda tak berubah. Hanya feed yang berubah. Dan ia sama di dalam marketplace: mereka memiliki traffic, mereka mengawal perhatian, mereka menentukan siapa nampak bisnes anda.

Inilah yang saya panggil Closed Loop — apabila platform memiliki dan mengawal segalanya, termasuk cara anda dibenarkan menjalankan bisnes anda sendiri. Sistem yang dulu membantu anda tiba-tiba menjadi sistem yang menyakiti anda. Dan anda hanya terus hidup jika anda terus membuat content. Hari anda berhenti, anda lenyap.

Tetapi trend sedang berubah. Semakin banyak bisnes cuba membawa balik ownership. Mendapatkan semula traffic mereka sendiri. Keluar daripada loop yang memenatkan ini — di mana bisnes bergantung sepenuhnya kepada belas kasihan orang lain.

Jadi kami membina BOOMieY untuk membalikkannya — dan mengembalikan ownership kepada bisnes.

Saya percaya inilah masa depan. Saya percaya masa depan dimiliki oleh bisnes yang memiliki traffic mereka sendiri. Dan saya percaya survival sesebuah bisnes, mulai sekarang, bergantung pada satu soalan — adakah anda memiliki pelanggan anda, atau orang lain yang memiliki?
