DELETE ACCOUNT, STORE & CIRCLE

This page explains how to delete your user account, your Store, and your Circle on BOOMieY, including the retention periods and what happens to your data after each type of deletion.
1. DELETE YOUR USER ACCOUNT
1.1 How It Works
When you request deletion of your BOOMieY user account, your account enters a 30-day grace period. During this window:
- Your account is marked for deletion but not yet permanently removed.
- You may recover your account at any time by signing back into the app. Signing in during the grace period cancels the deletion automatically and restores everything.
- After 30 days, your account is permanently purged and cannot be recovered.
1.2 What Gets Permanently Removed
Once the 30-day grace period expires, the following are permanently deleted:
- Your profile and personal information
- Your followers, following relationships, and saved items
- Your cart contents and notification preferences
- Your chat messages and Moments
- Stores you own — any store where you are the sole owner is soft-closed (see Section 2). If you are the sole owner of a Circle, your Circle is also closed.
1.3 What Is Anonymised (Not Destroyed)
To preserve the experience of other parties who interacted with you, some data is anonymised rather than removed:
- Your name, phone number, email, and address on past orders are replaced with "Deleted user" and stripped of personal details. The order itself — including postcode, city, and state for delivery records — remains, so sellers can maintain their order history.
- Your name on past product reviews is anonymised.
- Stores you owned remain visible to customers who placed orders there, but are marked closed and unowned.
1.4 How to Delete Your Account (In-App)
- Open the BOOMieY app.
- Navigate to your Profile tab (the person icon in the bottom navigation bar).
- Tap Settings (the gear icon in the top-right).
- Scroll down to the DANGER ZONE section.
- Tap Delete Profile.
- Read the information about the 30-day grace period, tick the acknowledgement checkbox, and tap Schedule Deletion (30 days).
You will be signed out immediately. To recover your account, sign back in with the same credentials before the 30 days expire — the app will prompt you to restore your account.
2. DELETE YOUR STORE
2.1 How It Works
When you delete your Store, it enters a 90-day grace period. During this window:
- Your Store is hidden from BOOMieY immediately — customers can no longer browse or place orders.
- You can restore your Store at any time within the 90-day window from the BOOMieY app. All products, settings, and order history are preserved.
- After 90 days, the Store and all associated data (products, campaigns, payment configurations) are permanently deleted.
2.2 What Survives After Permanent Deletion
- Past customer orders remain accessible to the buyers through their order history — order snapshots (product names, quantities, prices, and delivery details) are preserved at the time each order was placed.
- Product reviews written by customers for your products remain in their review history.
2.3 How to Delete Your Store (In-App)
- Open the BOOMieY app and navigate to your Store Dashboard.
- Tap Settings (the gear icon).
- Scroll down to the ADMINISTRATION section.
- Tap Delete Store.
- On the Danger Zone screen, review the options:
- Deactivate temporarily — hides your store without deleting it. You can reactivate it anytime.
- Delete Store — the 90-day soft-delete flow described above.
- Confirm your choice. You will be asked to confirm again before the deletion is scheduled.
To restore a soft-deleted Store within the 90 days, go to your Circle Setting and use the Create Store flow — the app will detect your deleted Store and offer to restore it.
3. DELETE YOUR CIRCLE
3.1 How It Works
When you delete your Circle, it enters a 90-day grace period. During this window:
- Your Circle is hidden from BOOMieY immediately — followers can no longer see your profile, Moments, or chat room.
- Your Circle handle (slug) is reserved for you during the grace period. Nobody else can claim it. You may reuse your own handle if you create a new Circle during the grace window.
- You can restore your Circle at any time within the 90-day window. Followers, Moments, chat history, and settings are all preserved.
- After 90 days, the Circle and all associated data (followers, Moments, chat messages, pinned products) are permanently deleted.
3.2 Important: Retire Your Store First
You cannot delete your Circle while you still have an active Store. If you attempt to delete your Circle and you own an active Store, the app will ask you to delete or close your Store first (see Section 2 above). This protects your customers and order history.
3.3 How to Delete Your Circle (In-App)
- Open the BOOMieY app and navigate to your Circle Profile.
- Tap the gear icon (⚙) in the top-right corner to open Circle Setting.
- Scroll down to the Delete Circle row (marked with a red trash icon).
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog. The app will remind you that you have 90 days to restore your Circle.
To restore a soft-deleted Circle within the 90 days, open the Circle tab — the app will detect your deleted Circle and offer to restore it.
4. RETENTION PERIOD SUMMARY

Purge jobs run daily in the early morning (UTC): accounts at 03:00, Stores at 04:00, and Circles at 05:00.
